Gastric bypass surgery is a serious procedure that works well for those that cannot lose weight by dieting or other means. Individual's who are disabled, unable to walk long distances, or have other health mobility issues can benefit from this type of surgery. However, it still requires a change in lifestyle and each individual reacts to the post surgery difficulties differently. It is not an overnight weight loss, as some people suspect, but over time the individual loses weight.
